Corning Mellanox: Data Center Solution

ECS Indo Jaya held “Corning & Mellanox Data Center Solution”  Training at Hongkong Café Thamrin – Jakarta on February 27th 2020. This training is aimed to introduce Ethernet Storage Fabric (ESF) and Open Networking & Business Critical Optical Fiber.

Here’s short explanation about Corning & Mellanox:

With the continued expansion and growth in the data center, a well-planned cabling infrastructure is critical for both present and future success. The fundamental concerns that a cabling infrastructure must address are reliability, manageability, scalability and flexibility. A structured cabling system provides a flexible cabling plan to address the commonly performed tasks of moving, adding, or changing the infrastructure as the network grows. A well-planned optical cable infrastructure will typically be utilized for more than 20 years and will have to be operational through several iterations of system equipment solutions and multiple generations of protocol data-rate increases.

Today’s data center cabling infrastructure must be designed to offer a competitive advantage and a lower cost of ownership immediately. As a result, the evolution path to higher speeds such as 40G and 100G data rates, as well as next-generation applications such as cloud computing and virtualization, must be ensured early in the data center cabling infrastructure design and planning process.

The data centers that today’s IT professionals are asked to manage are more than just tools in a larger operation; they are critical to their company’s business. For many, the data center is the business itself. It must deliver the best performance at the lowest possible total cost of ownership and scale as the business grows. As such, the majority of IT organizations have either already adopted or are in the process of adopting virtualization technologies. This enables a company to run various applications over the same servers, maximizing server utilization and achieving a dramatic improvement in the total cost of ownership, elastic provisioning, and scalability.

However, the adoption of a virtualization architecture creates some very significant data center interconnect challenges. To overcome these challenges, the majority of IT organizations are deploying advanced interconnect technologies to enable a faster, flatter, and fully virtualized data center infrastructure. Using the right interconnect technology, connecting servers to servers and servers to storage, reduces cost while providing the ability to support an increasingly virtualized and agile data center. This is exactly what Mellanox end-to-end interconnect solutions deliver.
