H3C Application-Driven Campus (AD-Campus) Solution combines VXLAN and the concept of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) to create a new-generation flexible network infrastructure. The solution converts campus network from “user adapts to network” to “network adapts to users”, enabling users and devices to roam around campus seamlessly, while remaining consistent user experience and simplified network operation. It reduces complexity of network deployment and maintenance and meets the increased requirements of mobility and massive terminal access on campus network in digital transformation.
AD-Campus solution adopts SDN architecture, decoupling control plane from forwarding plane. As SDN controller, Campus Director translates business intent into network language to achieve automated service provisioning. It also provides open and programmable interfaces for integration with third-party solutions. Powered by Campus Director, enterprise could focus on business innovation, enable faster launch of new business services and improve business efficiency.
In a traditional campus network, IP addresses and security policies change when the users’ location change. Thus increased mobility causes complex network planning, configuration and tests. AD-Campus creates a location independent campus network based on VXLAN and EVPN technology, providing optimal experiences for each user on each terminal, anywhere and anytime with role-based grouping and group-based policy. It simplifies network management and improves operational efficiency.
To ensure credible network access and secure interconnection, AD-Campus solution provides 5W1H scenario-based authentication, end-to-end security control and real-time user monitoring and management. Meanwhile, H3C provides granular security for specific scenarios.
Public terminals – Regardless of public or private terminals, each user can get the same experience with the same account.
High security and limited mobility – Support bind and unbind IP-MAC-Port with Campus Director, improving network security and operational efficiency.
In traditional campus network, most network installation and changes are manual and primitive. While in AD-Campus network, enterprise would design, provision and manage network rapidly and simply.
Full-process automation – Provide automated equipment onboarding, rapid service provisioning, resilient network expansion as well as flexible fault replacement.
Dumb terminal easy onboarding – Allow fast access of massive dumb terminals at any place of the network.
Centralized management – Campus Director as the single touch point for unified wired & wireless network and user management.
Visible & intelligent O&M – Provide network and business visibility, as well as comprehensive contextual information to reduce risk with faster threat detection and troubleshooting.
AD-Campus solution provides three networking models based on different network sizes.
Single-Leaf model – For small and medium-sized networks, recommend Single-Leaf model to build cost-effective AD-Campus network.
Standard 3-tier model – For medium and large-sized networks, suggest Standard 3-tier model to build highly automated, extensible and intelligent network.
Interconnection model – For multi-site networks, propose Interconnection model to ensure policy consistency.
